Best of PARIS fashion week FW 2010: Rochas

Maybe it's not fair to place this collection in the same 'best of'-box as Dries van Noten, but still, I thought Rochas surprised with a fresh colour palette. Marco Zanini based his third collection for Rochas on the 1969 romantic comedy starring Goldie Hawn and Ingrid Bergman.

Since fashion week has started we were getting an overload of turtle necks; Rochas showed us how to wear it properly:

I admire Dries van Noten for his consistence of continually showing impressive collections, season after season. This season he did it again:

Best of Milano fashion week FW 2010: Bottega Veneta & Marni

Lots of black at Bottega Veneta: a collection as expected: minimalistic, leather and beautiful tailoring.

And then there is Marni: as always they overwhelmed with a beautiful use of colour, sharp en convincing silhouettes and intelligent combinations of textures.

Best of Milano fashion week FW 2010: Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld

I love the Fendi collection so bad it hurts: Karl Lagerfeld created the most beautiful colours, silhouettes and combinations this season.

Best of Milano fashion week FW 2010: Prada

Prada has always been one of my favourites, cause designer Miuccia Prada is a true fashion leader.
Remember the high knee boots? Miuccia Prada.
Or how about the beautiful high waisted ultra short classic purple-red skirts and shorts? SS 2007: Miuccia Prada as well.
This season she believes in a Fall/Winter look which seems very conservative, but actually has the breast as a focal point.

That is why she used 'curvy' models as well as slimmer season favourites like Abbey Lee Kershaw.
Honestly I'm done with the whole 'why aren't models curvier'-discussion, but what I can say is that I do understand why designers pick the somewhat slimmer models on the catwalk:

Best of LONDON fashion week FW 2010: Burberry Prorsum

For Fall/Winter 2010 Burberrys Christopher Bailey designed a whole lot of parkas and overcoats, inspired by an old aviator jacket from the Burberry archive. With that came a little lace, a little fur, and, as always: a pleasant overload of beautiful bags and boots.

Alice Ritter: Calmness with a twist

I know we're in the middle of all Fall 2010 fashion weeks, but today i ran into the beautiful SS 2010 collection of Alice Ritter: I love how she combines subtile romantic serenity with a little masculine twist:
